Director of Missions
John has been in full time ministry for 30 years. His most recent ministry experience has been as the Associate Director of Missions for the Calhoun Baptist Association in North Alabama. John has a passion for missions, outreach, and teaching. He has served a number of years as a faciliator/trainer in the areas of Sunday School, Family Ministries, Senior Adults and Vacation Bible School.
Dr. Ken Farley
Church Development Director
Bro. Ken joined the staff of Columbia Baptist Association in 2001 after over 20 years in the pastorate. Ken’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting CBA churches with their educational and missions needs. Particularly, Ken gives leadership to Men’s Ministries, Disaster Relief, and special projects such as the Biker Ministry and Raceway Ministries.
Ken and his wife Kathy are members of Rehobeth Baptist where they teach an adult Sunday School class. When time allows, Ken enjoys bass fishing, Nascar, and especially flying his single engine airplane! One of his favorite Bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Dr. Jeff Ross
Church & Community Ministries Director
Bro. Jeff joined the CBA team as Ministry Center Director in July of 2007. In October 2014, he assumed the role of Church/Community Ministries, while giving oversight to the Ministry Center. His primary role is to give leadership to discovering unmet needs in the community, and assisting churches in developing and implementing programs of ministry to meet those needs.
Jeff has been in ministry for over 32 years as youth pastor, associate pastor, and senior pastor in churches throughout Florida, Tennessee, and Alabama. He has a heart for evangelism and leading others to know Christ. He is married to Eleatha, a local educator. They have two daughters, and three grandsons and one granddaughter.
In his time off, he enjoys playing with his grandchildren, yard work, College and Professional baseball, Auburn football, NASCAR, and classic muscle cars. His favorite scripture verse is: Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according the riches of His grace.” His favorite song is; “I Am Redeemed” by Big Daddy Weave. His favorite book is: “In His Steps” by Charles M. Sheldon.
Ministry Center Director
Melanie assumed the role of Director of the CBA Ministry Center in October 2014. She came to the CBAMC in January 2004 as the Administrative Assistant/Assistant Director.
Melanie surrendered her life to full-time ministry service in 1994, and has never doubted that call on her life. She is a graduate of Baptist College of Florida. Some of her ministry experience includes Site Director for M-Fuge for six years, as well as part-time youth minister at churches in Alabama and Tennessee.
Her favorite Bible passage is Romans 12:10-11 - "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lackiong in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord."
Melanie loves being a wife to John, and mom to John Parker and Danielle. In her spare time, she enjoys hunting, fishing, decorating cakes, and NASCAR.
Ministry Center Ministry Assistant
Lisa joined the CBA Ministry Center in March of 2014. Before that, she served as part-time Ministry Assistant at Cloverdale Baptist Church in Dothan for seven years. She is also serving as an officer for Alabama Association of Baptist Secretaries (AABS).
Lisa feels that her call is in the areas of encouragement and service. Since she began working at the CBAMC, she has become so much more aware of need for ministry in our everyday lives! Her favorite Bible verse is Nahum 1:7 - "The LORD is good, a stronghold in a day of distress; He cares for those who take refuge in Him."
Lisa is an avid Florida State Seminole fan. She also drives a school bus for Rehobeth Schools. One of her favorite things to collect are old/antique hymnals.
She is married to Harry, and they have two children, Matt and Breanna.
Administrative Assistant/Financial Ministry Assistant
Judy serves as the Administrative Assistant to the DOM and the Financial Ministry Assistant for the CBA. She returned to this role in October 2012, and also served in this capacity from 2003-2006. One of her favorite areas of responsibility is to serve the ministry assistants and clerks of the CBA churches. Her experience includes church financial ministry assistant, as well as school administrative assistant and bookkeeper. Judy has also served several officer positions in Alabama Association of Baptist Secretaries (AABS).
Judy feels a calling to her position, as she serves the churches of the CBA. She believes the work of the Association is important, and wants to be part of something that will make a Kingdom difference.
She is married to Tim, and they have served in music ministry together for over 30 years in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. They have two children that have recently made Tim and Judy grandparents to two sweet grandchidren!
One of her favorite verses is Colossians 3:23 - "Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people."
In her time off, Judy enjoys sewing, quilting, rocking grandbabies, and spending time in the mountains.
Emily joined the team to serve as the Receptionist and Communications Ministry Assistant of the CBA in January 2015. She formerly served as a ministry assistant at other churches before coming on staff.
She loves to serve others. Her desire is to see people become disciples, grow as disciples, and make other disciples. She serves in the children's ministry at the church she attends and enjoys investing in the coming generation.
One of her favorite passages of the Bible is 2 Corinthians 4 & 5. She loves Paul's encouragement to the church at Corinth and reminder that we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.
Hispanic Coalition Missionary
John's passion is to see people come to know Jesus Christ. He invests weekly in the Hispanic-speaking population as well as a marketplace chaplain across the Wiregrass.
